With 100 years, 10 months, and two weeks of a life well-lived, Dorsie San (Wong) Lee entered eternal rest on April 1, 2025. Surrounded by her loving family, she peacefully took God's hand and journeyed home.
Dorsie's life was defined by her devotion to family, faith, and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, carried forward by her children and their spouses: Arnold (Kris) Lee, Elayne (Karl) Pilar, and Ellen (Kim) Newson. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and her brother Willie (Jane) Wong, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. She will be deeply missed by her best friend of 70 years, Virginia Levine, as well as her dear friends at St. Mary Magdalen Church.
During the war, Dorsie and her sisters were true Rosie the Riveters, contributing to the war effort with hard work and determination.
Reuniting with Dorsie in heaven are her beloved husband of 55 years, Norman; her parents, Hing and Lemshe Wong; her grandsons, Scott and Steve; four sisters and four brothers-in-law; and four brothers and three sisters-in-law.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508.
A memorial service and celebration of life mass will take place on Saturday, May 3, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 1253 52nd St SE, Kentwood, MI 49508.
