Dorothy Levett, age 95, of Shelbyville, passed
away peacefully on October 1 with her daughters
at her side. She is now reunited in Heaven with
her son-Scott, husbands-Pat and Ed, sister-Alice,
brother-Walt as well as other family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Diane (Marv)
Kladder, Nancy (Jurgen) Vanderlaan, Step Son Rick
(Renae) Levett, Grandchildren Kyle, Scott, Amy and
Todd and numerous Great Grandchildren and
Great-Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are her
siblings Ann, Martha, Norma, Jake and Jim. Dorothy
was a school bus driver for Caledonia Public Schools
for 21 years and we still hear stories about her being
the favorite bus driver. She was a member of Martin
United Methodist Church where she volunteered to help
with many activities over the years. Her passion was
gardening and would stay up all hours of the night
knitting baby sweaters for Operation Stork and slippers
for friends and family. She had the opportunity to travel
over the years to many interesting locations. The family
wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice of
Michigan for the excellent care and support they received.
Celebration of life will take place at Martin United
Methodist Church, 969 E. Allegan St., Martin, MI 49070
on Sunday, October 17 at 1:00 with a luncheon to follow.
Visitation with the family will be one hour before the
service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to
Hospice of Michigan at HOM.org or Alzheimers Assn.
