Doris Katharina was born on December 4, 1933, in Steinheim, Germany, to Karl and Maria Goth. In 1958, she met and married U.S. Army soldier, John Stewart, stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. She is survived by her two children: Mark (Bee) Stewart and Eva (Ken) Bauman; and four grandchildren: Stephanie Stewart, Bryce (Abigail) Bauman, Lily Bauman, and Sara Stewart.

In 1966, John and Doris moved their family to the Vine Neighborhood on Oak Street in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where many great memories were made. Doris cared for John as he was diagnosed with ALS until his death in 1980; and then she moved to Richland, Michigan, where she eventually met and married William Hilborn, who passed away in 1998. She loved children and cared for many in her home over the years, including grandchildren, well into her 80's.

Doris was a loving wife, dedicated mother, grandmother, and a great friend to many. She leaves much to be remembered in the hearts of those she has left behind and will be deeply missed. She proclaimed Jesus as her Lord and Savior, and her family finds comfort in her going home to be with Him.

Doris invested and regularly prayed for EveryHeart Movement. Every Heart Movement is a student-run Christian movement, created in part by Doris' own grandchildren, and is dedicated to creating space for every heart to be met by the love of Jesus Christ.
