Doris Dorilda Ermatinger, 86, of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026.
Born March 3, 1940, in Fort Kent, Maine, to Daniel Long and Dorilda (Deprey) Long. Doris was one of 8 children. Doris’s siblings and spouses: Corinne (Bob) Keene, Julien (Sue) Long, Danny (Janet) Long, Rose Marie (Don) Anderson, Patricia (Bob) Emerson, Allen (Maria) Long, Jerry Long. Doris had fond memories of their farm in Passadumkeag, Maine. Doris loved spending time with her three sisters Corinne, Rose and Pat.
Doris and her husband, John Ermatinger, recently celebrated 65 years of marriage on June 10, 2026. Together they started an industrial automation business, Industrial Control. Doris is remembered for her ability to work with numbers. A woman of remarkable patience, persistence, and tenacity, she was relentless in resolving discrepancies.
Together, John and Doris liked to travel throughout the United States, often to visit family members. Doris had a wonderful memory for people, places, and restaurants! In addition to travel and family, Doris enjoyed gardening, cooking and birds. Doris was generous and kind. She loved to feed the family with “Ermatinger Gut Busters” on holiday feasts.
Doris is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Ermatinger; her four children, Beth Parr (Jim), Karl Ermatinger (Jean), Mark Ermatinger (Sue), Jeanne Drudy. Doris has 15 surviving grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13, at 10-11am (one hour before the funeral) at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Holland, Michigan. The funeral mass will start at 11am. Lunch will be provided after the funeral. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery, Holland, Michigan.
