It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Donna Marie Parks on June 29, 2023 peacefully at
age 81.
Donna lived a life blessed by two long and happy marriages, first to her late husband Bill Hoisington and
then years later another 21 years married to Dar Parks. Each place she lived in Michigan, Tennessee, and
Florida was defined by the friends she made there—friends she remained close to for decades and
decades. When a new neighbor arrived, she was always among the first to greet them and invite them
in. She was loved by all.
She was an avid card player who loved to dance and shop. She was an early computer geek, a stock
trader, and jewelry-maker. Early in life she worked for the Durant Hotel and the Ludington News. She
loved traveling and adventures took her to Greece, England, the Caribbean, and beyond. She attended
the World's Fair in New York City in 1965.
At Donna's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill, mother Marie, father "Sparky," sister Shirley (Paul)
and sister-in-law Margaret. Donna leaves behind a loving family that includes husband Dar, brother
Bernie (Dorothy), children Anne (Dan), Dawn, Chip (Christine), Tami (Matt), and David (Laura),
grandchildren Nick (Kim), Joseph (Katie), Gabbi, Anna, Emily, Hannah, Karli, Natalie, Ivan, and Kyle, great
grandson Patrick, nieces and a nephew, and so, so many friends.
