Donald Michael Schneider, 66, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away from cancer Thursday, Sept.17, 2020 at Rose Arbor Hospice House. Donald was a loving brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all.

He was born on Sept. 29, 1953 in Detroit, MI to the late Rudolph & Eugenia (Chupka) Schneider. He was a luthier, carpenter and Licensed Contractor with his own business.
In his youth he apprenticed to his older brother Richard, building his own guitar. He enjoyed kayaking, camping and singing with his guitar around an open fire. He never outgrew an interest in science fiction and was an animal lover throughout his life, rescuing pets along the way.

He is survived by his sisters, Karen (Jack) Thompson of Presque Isle. MI and Theodora (Thomas) Cichoski of Elmira, MI; nieces Anne Marie, Kim, Leslie; nephews Michael, Terry, Verne, Donald and Darin; and several grandnieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janice Allen and brother Richard Schneider.

A celebration of Donald's life will take place at a later date in Detroit. The family asks that memorials be given in his name to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or an animal rescue shelter of your choice.
