Murphy - Donald Patrick Murphy, age 78 of Grand Rapids, MI passed away peacefully on Dec. 14th, 2016. Don was an Air Force Veteran proudly serving from 1955 to 1957.. He enjoyed life, music and cooking. He recorded his life's most memorable moments through his love of photography. Don's laughter and love of life were infectious to all who surrounded him. Don was preceded in death by his mother Helen M. Murphy and father Patrick N. Murphy. He is survived by his sister Marjorie (Robert) Polack, his children Karen & Shelley Murphy, Randy, Jeff and his former wife Nancy Murphy. Nieces Patrice (Randall) Shields, Jocelyn (Greg) Martinek, Lauralyn (Mark) Rudig. Nephews Craig (Susan) Polack and Terry Polack; 15 great and 16 great, great nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be offered Tuesday December 20th, 2016 at 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. A private viewing for close friends and family will be held prior to the service at 10 am. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Michigan in Donald Murphy's name.
