Donald W. Deem, 93 of Gobles, Michigan passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 at his home. Born September 14, 1925 in Three Rivers, Michigan he was the son of the late Donald Deem and Beatrice Smith of Kalamazoo, Michigan. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central in 1943. He joined the United States Marine Corp. November 9, 1943 where he served as a tank mechanic overseas during WWII. Don married Doris Butcher in 1948. They had two children, daughter Diana (Holmes) and son Daniel Deem. He had four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren who he enjoyed spending time with. He retired as a supervisor from James River Paper Co., Parchment, Michigan. His pastimes included hunting, fishing, bowling and softball. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Don was very passionate about his love for family. His presence will forever be missed but never forgotten. Military Honors will be held at the Robinson Cemetery in Gobles, Michigan at 11:00 am on October 16, 2018. Luncheon to follow.
