Don Franklin Shelton, 69, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, entered eternal life on August 13, 2015, at Clark Retirement Community in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Don was born April 18, 1946, in Detroit, Michigan to Herbert and Mary Elizabeth Shelton. He graduated from Franklin High School in Livonia, Michigan in 1964. Don was a professional artisan and a gifted fine arts photographer. He was an ardent fan of Grand Prix and motorcycle racing, and successfully competed in both motocross and MX racing. Don is survived by his beloved daughter Jessica Shelton of Grand Rapids, MI; former wife Katie Shelton of Mount Pleasant, MI; niece Heather (Robert) Gibson of London, UK, and nephew Robert (Tuul) Meldrum of Brooklyn, NY. Don leaves behind many cherished friends, including Karolyn and Jim Parron of Ann Arbor, MI; Heidi Stine and Will Magoon of Atlanta, GA; Pat, Karen and Mike Bourbonnais of Debary, FL; Janet Newell of Chicago, IL; John and Lesley Regan of Ann Arbor, MI, and Tecla Loup of Tecumseh, MI. Don was preceded in death by his parents and much-loved sister, Virginia Meldrum. A memorial service was held in Grand Rapids, Michigan on April 12, 2016.
