IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dolores
Wootten
January 2, 1947 – December 20, 2022
Dolores Marie Wootten, age 75, of Hillman, MI, passed away on December 20th, 2022, in her daughter's home, embraced by her loving family. She was born to John and Ann (Sobczynski) Lijewski on January second, 1947 in Rogers City, MI.
Dorie, as she was known by those who loved her, was the first born of 10, and life on the family farm in Posen taught her perseverance, a love for the outdoors and care and giving to family.
She devoted her life to the care and love for all creatures, family, friends, and a career giving care as nurse's aide and hospice worker.
She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and trips to new places and sights. She cherished spring and summer, tolerated fall and despised winter. In fair weather you'd often find her home on her little bench, smoking and watching the northern Michigan skies roll by, surrounded by flowers and birds, or putzing in the yard.
Dorie was preceded in death by her husband James, her daughter Karen, brother Michael and sister Jane. She is survived by son, Kevin Wootten and Jennifer Murphy, four brothers, and three sisters, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, and her little dog Ellie Mae.
The family would like to thank our wonderful Centrica Hospice team for their compassion and care in her last weeks, Father Dave from St. Ann Catholic Parish in Augusta, and Ofield Funeral Home. the many family and friends that came to help or kept her in their thoughts and prayers.
In lieu of a funeral, a celebration of life will be held in Spring of 2023, final date and location to be determined. Those wishing to offer expressions of sympathy are encouraged to donate to a local-to-you animal shelter, or plant some flowers.
