IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dinah
Doloway
May 11, 1958 – February 20, 2024
Dinah Lee Doloway, affectionately known as Dinah, graced this world with her loving and adventurous spirit, born on May 11, 1958, in Norfolk, VA. On February 20, 2024, Dinah passed away peacefully in Grand Rapids, MI, after a courageous battle against cancer.
The daughter of the late James Doloway and Gloria LaDue, Dinah was a beacon of light in the lives of her family. She is survived by her devoted sons, Shawn (Catherine), and remembered with love her son Chris, who preceded her in death. Dinah was a cherished sister to Deb (Phil), Judy, and Jill, and a supportive sister to her brothers James and Tim. Her warm presence will be sorely missed by her many nieces and nephews. A proud graduate of her local high school, Dinah spent many years mastering her craft as an electronics assembler. Her commitment to her community shone through her active volunteering for events and charities, including Laugh Fest and Art Prize. Dinah's zest for life was evident to all who knew her. She thrived in the beauty of the outdoors and was passionate about capturing life's moments through her photography. Her love for music was shared at countless concerts alongside family and friends. An avid sports enthusiast, Dinah never missed a chance to cheer for the Red Wings and U of M football, showcasing her undying team spirit. Dinah's legacy is one of pure joy and friendship. Those who knew her remember a woman who loved to laugh and play, who was always ready for the next adventure, and who possessed a rare ability to make every person she met feel like the most important person in the world. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Dinah certainly embraced life's journey, and though her own path has reached its end, the memories created, and the love shared will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know her.
There will be a celebration of life for Dinah Doloway, this Friday from 4-7 at the Douglas Walker Park Pavilion. Please come any time and share your favorite memories as we celebrate the life she lived with those she loved.
