Obituary

Dianne Marie Evenski (Jones), 79, of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, surrounded by her devoted family.

Born on September 12, 1946, in Howard Lake, Minnesota, Dianne was the cherished daughter of George and Dorothy Jones. She grew up in a small-town atmosphere and completed her education at Howard Lake High School before embarking on a lifelong journey of love and commitment.

In 1967, Dianne married her beloved Vern Evenski. Together, they built a nurturing home in Wyoming, Michigan, where they lovingly raised their four children. As a dedicated stay-at-home mother, Dianne invested herself wholeheartedly in her children’s lives and community, enriching many school activities with her presence.

Dianne found joy in music, treasuring the melodies of Elvis and the Beatles. She was an avid reader of thrillers, particularly enjoying the works of Stephen King, and spent peaceful hours knitting. Her simple pleasures, like enjoying M&M's, were shared with those she loved.

With a kind and caring spirit, Dianne embraced everyone as part of her family. Her warmth and compassion were felt deeply by her friends and extended family.

Dianne leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Vern; her brother Brent (Mary) Jones; sister-in-law Bonnie Jones; her children Cherylan Anderson, Denise Smarch, Robert Evenski, and Eve (Steve) Thompson; grandchildren Derrick (Melissa) Evenski, Tom (Luz) Smarch Jr., Aubreanna (Dakota) Schafer, Cole (Lillian) Thompson, Zechariah Anderson, and Elizabeth Thompson; and great-grandchildren Charlotte Stotmeister, Billy, Allen Hofacker, and Rylee Smarch, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is reunited in peace with her parents, George and Dorothy, and her brother Rodney Jones.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Dianne’s life on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 4 to 6 PM at Ofield Funeral Home, Kentwood, Michigan.
