IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diane Ruth
Tanis
December 27, 1946 – April 26, 2020
Diane Ruth Tanis (Krupinski), age 73 of Kentwood, Michigan passed away at home surrounded by family on Sunday, April 26th, 2020. Born December 27th, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and June (Hartmann) Krupinski. She graduated from Sparta High School in 1965 and married Dennis Tanis on May 15th, 1971. In 1976, with a heart for children, she opened an in-home childcare business that turned into a career spanning nearly four decades.
She loved to spend time camping with her husband, children and grandchildren. Timber Ridge in Traverse City, Michigan, a place that welcomes relaxation in "All seasons for all reasons," became like a second home through the years. The lady that loved Lady and the Tramp also enjoyed vacationing at Disney World, and while Space Mountain was not her thing she did love to shop along those enchanted streets.
She spent countless hours knitting everything from hats and mittens to scarves and blankets. She donated boxes and bags full of lovingly crafted items to help care for those who needed it through the years. When she was not camping, shopping, or knitting you could find her in her favorite chair reading a romance novel. Queue the scene where the Tramp rolls that meatball across the plate to the tune of "Bella Notte," it wasn't the spaghetti that made the movie one of her favorites, Diane was a romantic at heart and it showed in how she gave so much of herself through the years.
She enjoyed spending time with her Spiritual Family and friends at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In memory of Diane and in lieu of flowers please select a charity and donate.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents Henry and June. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Tanis of Kentwood, MI and children; John Tanis; Patricia (John) Gruber of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, Jennifer Lachniet of Kentwood, MI, and Brian (Rachel) Tanis of Madison, AL. Brother, Paul Krupinski of Grand Rapids, MI. Grandchildren; Zachary Gruber and Holly Gruber, Alec Lachniet and Bailey Lachniet, Joshua Tanis, Vincent Tanis, and Shane Tanis; Angel Bonjour and Stephanie Bonjour, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
