Obituary

Dennis Allen Kloosterman, born on May 14, 1950, in Kalamazoo, MI was sent to his eternal home on May 17, 2025, in Wyoming, Michigan. He was the eldest son of Elias and Evelyn Kloosterman.

Dennis was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, humor, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. He was a servant for God. He led his family to the Lord. He went to Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music where he met Marcia. They got married and had a daughter, Sherry. They found a home church at Newhall Baptist Church for 20 years and then Jenison Bible Church. He held many positions in the church: sound room tech, AWANA leader, choir secretary, Sunday School teacher, usher, and greeter to name a few. He served the way he lived, with compassion and love. He knew when to be serious and when to have fun. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 53 years, Marcia Kloosterman; two brothers, Gordan (Sue) Kloosterman and Brian (Amber) Kloosterman; his daughter, Sherry (Michael) Hedgecock;  three grandchildren, William Hedgecock, Megan (Jacob) Lenz, and Elizabeth Hedgecock (Kallen Romska); and his last pet, Maverik. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who adored and miss him dearly.

A meet with the family is at 2 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025 at Jenison Bible Church in Hudsonville, MI. A service will follow being held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2025, at Jenison Bible Church in Hudsonville, MI.
