It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis D. Ende, who passed away on July 12, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born on September 6, 1940, in Holland, Michigan, Dennis lived a life marked by kindness, determination, hard work, and a deep love for his family and friends. Known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, he had a gift for making people smile and left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Dennis began his career as a salesman before channeling his entrepreneurial spirit into a lifetime of innovation and business ownership. He was the inventor of the Northport Nailer fishing spoon and founded or owned several family businesses, including Magna Dyne Products, American Tackle Outfitters, and Closeout News. His creativity, vision, and willingness to pursue new ideas defined much of his life’s work.

Outside of business, Dennis enjoyed rebuilding Macintosh computers, tending his garden, and sharing his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He found joy in creating, fixing, and growing things, and his curiosity and ingenuity inspired those around him.

Dennis is lovingly survived by his children, Melissa R. (Dave) Andrews, Dennis M. Ende, and Melanie K. (Jim) Kramer. He was a proud grandfather to Marley (Bryan) Spiegelhoff, Jesse Andrews, Justin Andrews, Michael (Sarah) Dunlap, Aubrey (Logan) Forist, Chase Kramer, and Mariah Ritsema. He was also a cherished great-grandfather to Hayden Dunlap.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Mary N. Ritsema and Michelle E. Stimmel; his sister, Donna J. Wood; and his parents, Dennis B. and Ruth M. Ende.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Fountain View Assisted Living in Coopersville and Interim Hospice Muskegon for the exceptional care, kindness, and support they provided Dennis during his final days.

A private family service and burial will be held later to celebrate Dennis’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice Muskegon or the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Dennis will be deeply missed, but his love, laughter, creativity, and enduring legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
