Debra Lynne Strock (Kentwood, MI), a cherished sister, beloved aunt, and devoted friend, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on April 20, 1953, in Warren, Ohio, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital, and raised in Niles, Ohio, Debbie was known for her infectious humor, unwavering generosity, and profound love for those around her.
Debbie was the beloved daughter of Ward and Bertha Strock, who predeceased her and whom she spoke of often with great fondness and admiration. She is survived by her dear siblings: Mark (Bets) Strock, Steven Strock, Laurie Strock, Jeanine Strock, and sister-in-law Christie Strock, who will forever treasure her memory. Her legacy continues in the lives of her cherished nieces and nephews: Sarah Strock, Erik (Ruthie) Strock, Jeffrey Strock, Bradley Strock, Gregory Strock, and Jessica Strock, and in the bright smiles of her great-nephew and niece, Bowen and Greer.
A proud graduate of Niles McKinley High School, class of 1971, Debbie embarked on a career path that showcased her versatility and tenacity. Her early career saw her working at Sears and Carlisle's in Niles before she moved to Michigan in the mid-1980s. There, she worked as an assistant dress buyer at Steketee's in downtown Grand Rapids. Later, she transitioned into a dedicated role in customer service and sales at various food and restaurant supply companies. Her professional journey culminated with her retirement from the travel industry.
Debbie’s life was a testament to her faith and her selfless spirit. She was a devoted volunteer at Our Daily Bread Ministries and Faith Hospice, where she touched many lives with her kindness and compassion. Her family and friends were her greatest joy, and she never hesitated to share God’s love with everyone she met. Always ready with a joke to lighten the mood, her vibrant personality brought laughter into every room. A die-hard Ohio State Buckeyes fan, she named her beloved dog Brutus after the team’s mascot, a testament to her loyalty and spirited nature, especially living in Michigan the past 40+ years!
Though she did not accumulate wealth in a traditional sense, Debbie was rich in heart and soul. Her graciousness and large-heartedness were evident in the way she lived her life. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held on July 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Ada Bible Church - Kentwood Campus, located at 2045 68th St SE, Caledonia, MI. The family warmly invites everyone who knew Debbie to join them for the service and stay for a time of visitation afterwards. The service will also be livestreamed.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Debbie’s honor to Our Daily Bread Ministries (https://www.odbm.org/en/donation) or Faith Hospice (https://faithhospicecare.org/donate).
Debbie’s family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the love and support received during this difficult time. Her laughter, warmth, and unwavering faith will forever be a beacon of light in our hearts.
