Deborah Kay Shepard, of Grand Rapids, passed away peacefully at the age of 70 on Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Trinity Health St. Mary's Hospital with her children by her side.
She was born on December 21, 1952, in Grand Rapids, to Ruth Grover and Charles Shepard.
Deborah (Debbie) developed her passion for accounting in high school, which led to a career in the field of accounting for over 40 years. She enjoyed baking, crocheting, knitting, and playing Yahtzee. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her five cherished grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her three children: Cassandra (John) Connors, Kendra Damer, and Keith (Mandy) Damer; grandchildren: Bailey, Adyson, Otis, London, and Mackenzie; her brother, Michael (Janice) Shepard; as well as many other family and friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Norma Shepard.
The family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to Trinity Health St. Mary's Hospital for the excellent care they provided to Debbie and her family throughout her stay.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral service to be held at 10am on Friday, August 18, 2023, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Kentwood. A celebration of life will be held immediately following the service at the funeral home. Debbie will be laid to rest during a private burial in the Last Supper Garden at Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.
