Deborah "Debbie" Baker, 54, went to Heaven on July 23, 2017, at Wings of Hope Hospice Home in Allegan, Michigan. Debbie was born on October 28, 1962, in Douglas, Michigan to parents George and Barbara (Welch) Baker. She graduated from Saugatuck High School in 1980 and from Central Michigan University in 1984 with a B.A. in Elementary Education. Debbie spent most of her working life as a subsitute teacher and loved working with children. Debbie was a member of Eternal Word Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan and and a former member of the 1st Congregation Church in Saugatuck, Michigan. She is survived by her mother, Barbara, brothers Ken Baker of Holland, Jeff (Karen) Baker of Douglas, uncle Alan (Elaine) Welch of Colorado, several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the 1st Congregational Church of Saugatuck, 296 Hoffman Street, Saugatuck, Michigan 49453 on Friday, July 28, 2017. Visitation will be at 11:00 am with a service at 12:00 pm and a luncheon to follow.
