Dawn Elaine Simonis (White), age 90, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, July 21, 2018. Dawn was born on May 29, 1928, the daughter of Cecil and Viola White. Dawn was a loving mother to her sons and family. She was very generous and supported her church and a variety of charities. Dawn's talents and interests were many -- from floral arranging to designing and creating unique crafts. During her teen years, Dawn pursued tap dancing and was skilled at copying movies' elaborate hair styles and makeup. Over the years, her interest in Hollywood was steadfast. She was an ace on the stars of the Golden Era and old movie trivia. Dawn is survived by her son, Philip Simonis; granddaughters Hilliary, Tanya, and McKenzie; a great-grandson, Brandon; sisters Shirley (Ralph) Andree, Carole (Greg) Meriwether-Hipp, and Mary Grant; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dawn is proceeded in death by her husband, Leonard J Simonis; her sons David Simonis, Mark Simonis, and Stephen Simonis; and her brother, Kenneth White. In keeping with Dawn's wishes, cremation has taken place with interment at Greenwood Cemetery. There will be a luncheon to celebrate her life at a later date after burial has occurred.
