David Lawrence Olsen, age 73, passed on to Glory on Aug 14, 2023, at 3:50 p.m.

It was a mostly average day until the thunder and lightening and pouring rain made its appearance. It was the kind of day I know he was enjoying as he passed from this life to the next. A perfect send off.

We enjoyed thunderstorms and this one was exceptionally delightful!

Dave will be greatly missed by his wife of 32 plus years, as well as by his brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews, in-laws and friends, and two grandboys. He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and puns a-plenty. He spent many hours delving into history books, working crossword puzzles, and reading his Nero Wolf books. He often said that we all have at least 7 stories to tell. This is your final story, Dave. You now have 8, and this is the greatest of all, your heavenly story.

There will be a celebration of Dave's life on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the VFW post at 557 11th St. in Grand Rapids starting at 4:00 p.m. If you would like to make a donation, please do so to the American Cancer Society.
