David Peter Leinaar, age 52, passed away peacefully at his home in Dowling, Michigan, on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

David was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, on January 28, 1974, to Rhonda and Peter Leinaar. He was a hardworking and respected millwright who earned the admiration of his coworkers through his skill, dedication, and strong work ethic.

One of David’s proudest accomplishments was designing and building his own log home by hand, a reflection of his craftsmanship, determination, and independence. He found joy in the outdoors and loved spending time hunting and fishing with family and friends. His sons especially cherished the many summers spent together in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, memories that will remain with them forever.

David is survived by his parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer (Earl) Bair; his sons and their spouses, Cody and Terin, Kollin and Andrea, Luke and Rilee; and his beloved grandchildren, Chase, Noah, Polley, Beau, and Parker, his nephew and great niece Keegan and Claire Planck.

David will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love for his family, and the lasting memories he created with those closest to him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Pleasantview Family Church, 2601 Lacey Road, Dowling, Michigan 49050, on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
