IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Allen
Larson
December 23, 1968 – January 19, 2026
David Allen Larson, a man of exceptional skill, quiet strength, and unwavering loyalty, passed away on January 19, 2026. Known affectionately to many as “Meat” or “Big Dave,” he lived a life defined by hard work and the simple, enduring pleasures of a life well-lived.
A master of his craft, David was a skilled carpenter who found peace and purpose in woodworking. Professionally, he dedicated his time as a salvager for Goodwill Industries, contributing his labor and spirit to his community.
David’s character was perhaps best measured by his fierce and lifelong loyalties. A devoted, lifelong fan of the Detroit Lions, he stood by his team through every season with a grit that never wavered. That same steadfastness was the hallmark of his personal relationships, particularly his deep brotherhood with Dave and Doug Moseler, friends who stood by him through the decades.
Above all, David’s legacy lives on through his daughter, Mercedes Olsen, and his grandson, Jacob Coleman. He is survived by his parents, Pamela and Ed Kerbersky; his sister, Charmen Spicklemire, and her husband Terry; and his brother, Rick Larson. David was preceded in death by his brother, Robert John.
A celebration of life will be held at a future date to honor David’s memory and share the stories he loved so well.
He will be remembered fondly with a cup of coffee in hand, a story ready to be told, and a heart as large as the nicknames he carried.
Farewell, Big Dave. You were a man who didn't need many words to make his presence known or his loyalty felt. Your work is finished, and the life you built stands strong in the memories of those who loved you. We’ll save a seat and a cup of coffee for you.
