David Jacob Ebels, 85, of Hudsonville, MI, passed away peacefully at home on October 19, 2026, remembered for his love of family, cars and racing.

David was born June 23, 1941, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Jacob and Gertrude (Van Dam) Ebels. He lived in Hudsonville where he was known for his talent for construction and handiwork, his love of cars and racing, and time spent at the local coffee shop. Above all, he cherished his grandchildren and the time he spent with them.

He was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn (Hoogeveen) Ebels, his brother John and sister Janice (Bultema).

He is survived by: Children: Laura Ebels (Hudsonville), Bret and Laura Ebels (Grand Rapids), Gayle and Matthew Little (Fleming Island, FL) Grandchildren: Madelyn, Olivia, Christian, and Gabriel Ebels; Zachary and Jacob Little Great-Grandchildren: Daxton and Bex Little Brother: Dan Ebels (Carol) Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

A Celebration of Life will be held June 26, 2027, in Hudsonville, MI. The family requested donations to Raceway Ministries in lieu of flowers .
