David Craig Dykhuis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and respected member of the community, passed away on January 18, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on November 13, 1948, in Grand Rapids, David led a life filled with love, service, and passion.
David dedicated a significant part of his career to American Seating, from which he eventually retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. His professional life was complemented by his proud service in the United States Army, where he exhibited the values of dedication and bravery that characterized him throughout his life.
Outside of his professional endeavors, David found joy in various hobbies and interests. He was an enthusiastic fan of NHRA Drag Racing, where the thrill of speed and competition captured his heart. Additionally, he cherished spending time on the golf course, where he enjoyed the sport's camaraderie and challenge. Winters were often spent in Florida with his beloved wife, Carolynne, where they created lasting memories together.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Carolynne Dykhuis; his two sons, Benjamin (Shana) Dykhuis and Jason Dykhuis; and his precious granddaughter, Brielle Dykhuis. The love he shared with his family will forever be remembered, and his kindness will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As friends and family reflect on David's life, they remember him not just for his accomplishments and interests but for the warmth he brought into their lives. His legacy will continue to shine bright in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
