He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Joan Curley; his 5 children Scott and (Lori) Stancliff, Sheri Stancliff, Robert and (Linda) Curley, Catherine and (Ronald) Pierce, and Shane Curley; 12 grandchildren Jenny and (Brandie) Meyer, Theresa and (Wes) King, Christina Harrington, Erin and (Nate) David, Robert Curley, Cassidy Pierce, Jonathan Curley, Justin Cutler, Kyle Pierce, Zachary Cutler, Bryant Curley, and Shannon Curley; 3 great-grandchildren Ashley Seibold, Krysten Meyer, and Alex Meyer; his brother, Thomas Curley; numerous friends, and extended family members. David was an outdoors man through and through. He loved to hunt, fish, and cut his own wood to heat his home. He has always owned some type of John Deer and would enjoy pulling the family through the woods on a hay ride in the fall. He loved spending time with his family and friends at his cottage on Gun Lake and entertaining us all with his tunes, drinks, and a pontoon boat ride. He was a member of the American Legion - Post 28 where he had made a lot of friends and enjoyed talking about whatever while enjoying a cold one. He was definitely a family man and his family was the most important to him. He was a vending machine mechanic for a good portion of his life while raising his 5 children and later retired to be an entrepreneur of DSB Services where he built and delivered pallets for around 15 years. He was always busy and enjoyed life to its fullest. Funeral services for David will be at the Ofield Funeral Home at 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue in Kentwood, MI on Tuesday, July 22 from 11 am to 1 pm with the funeral service immediately following.
