David Edward Crawford, age 65, of Belmont, Michigan, finished his battle with MS and passed into the arms of his Savior on November 14, 2020.

Having no children of his own, David poured wisdom and guidance into the lives of his nieces and nephews. He loved each one and spent time playing sports with them, attending their sporting events, supporting them in their educational and ministry pursuits and of course feeding them "dirt" (i.e. candy).

He was known as "Mr. Dave" to many pre-school children - the one who stopped his custodial work to play and read to them.

He was known as "Coach" to many athletes, gently instructing and encouraging them, not only in their sport but in their daily lives.

He was known as "Boss" to many teens, giving them their first job as his custodial helpers, teaching them the value of hard work and a job well done.

David lived a quiet life but his example of living a life devoted to his Lord was front and center. When asked what he wanted others to know about him, he said, "I'm just a sinner, saved by grace."

David was preceded in death by his parents, Albert George and Irma Lorraine (Johnson) Crawford and his brother-in-law, Jay Bufton.

He is survived by his siblings, Daniel (Nicole) Crawford, Douglas (Kathy) Crawford, Deb (Jim) Peterson, Donald (Kara) Crawford, Denise Bufton and Daryl (Beth) Crawford along with many nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
