To my dearest, I knew when our eyes first locked... you were the one.
And when we began talking drums and music, you had me...you were the one.
As for that quick wit...you were the one.
We took our time and did things right...you were the one.
We enjoyed 4 wheeling in your Jeep in your old stomping grounds...you were the one.
You were always the perfect gentleman to me...you were the one.
I will NEVER forget the time on Valentine's Day you ordered the barbershop quartet to come serenade me at work with roses and chocolate...you were the one.
All the long walks, your love for all sentient beings, your gentle soul... you were the one.
You have always been behind me with my goals in life...you were the one.
My heart is breaking, but I take comfort in the fact that in the end you did it your way, at home, in bed with me holding your hand with our four-legged family surrounding us.
I always knew you were the one.
