Obituary

David Michael Bohn was a beloved husband, father, and friend. Sadly, David passed away the evening of
May 22, 2024. He was at home surrounded by his wife and son in Wayland, Michigan. David was born at
Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was 79 years old when he passed. His mother's
name was Patricia Ann Bohn-Johnson, his father's name was Oliver Forrest Bohn.
David was a hard working man with a heart of gold. Family meant everything to him. He always made
sure his family was taken care of and kept them safe. We had 43 years of marriage together and our son,
when his father got ill, took such good care of him. We took care of him together.
David had made a lot of good friends in Wayland. He was always there to help out his friends and to lend a
hand. He had a caring spirit. No one can fill his shoes. But we know he will always be with us, watching
over us. He is always here with us, picking us up, and reminding us to never give up. His words were, "Hang
Tight, Stay Strong, I am never far away".
My most cherished moments: The day we met in Memphis, Tennessee, Our wedding day, and the birth of
our son Nate. And David meeting his son Jeremy, and granddaughter Sarah. I'm so glad they found each
other, and had that father-son bond. And that he got to meet and get to know his granddaughter. He
loved them both so much.
David leaves behind his wife, Donna; his two sons, Nate Bohn and Jeremy Verburg; granddaughter, Sarah Verburg; two
sisters, Jeanne Ash and Cindy Harwood; and his brother, Craig Ash. He was preceded in death by his
grandmother, Agatha; mother, Patricia; father, Oliver; aunt, Jeanne; and brother, Paul.
David liked the Detroit Lions, Michigan University teams and the Kansas City Chiefs. He will be dearly
missed by all of his family and friends.
Special thanks go to the employees and staff from Ofield Funeral Home in Kentwood, Michigan.
Your employees took such good care of him, when they came for him. Your staff was very helpful with
the preparation of my husbands cremation. Thank you so much.
