David George Barnes, age 57, passed away at his home on September 8th, 2019. David was born in Grand Rapids MI, and raised in Kentwood MI. David was preceded in death by grandparents, Paul and Fern Barnes; Abbie and George Brown, parents Donald and Phyllis Barnes and big brother Donald Barnes Jr. He is survived by his sister, who was also his best friend, Carol Bateman; brothers Phil (Alice) Barnes and Tim (Althea) Barnes; Sister in Law, Ruthann Barnes; Nieces and Nephews, Angie (Mark) Scarlato; Mike (Sarah) Barnes; Karen (Dwayne) Lancaster; Jason Bateman, Chad Bateman, Alisha Bateman (Thomas Wyntjes); Melissa Bateman (Matt Ogden); Kenny Bateman; Stephen Bateman; Tyler Corey and 22 great nieces and nephews. Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and special friends. David loved spending time at his cabin in Baldwin MI. He also loved fishing, mushroom hunting, euchre, music and enjoying life with family and friends. He took pride in taking care of his loved ones He will forever be missed. A celebration of life will take place at Grandville Banquet Center, 2900 Wilson Ave SW Grandville MI 49418 at 2:00 pm Sunday September 22nd 2019. A gathering with refreshments will take place immediately after the service for family and friends.
