IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David
Barnaby
January 4, 1959 – August 2, 2024
It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we share the passing of our dear brother, David Barnaby.
David started out in life as our (late) mother used to say, "full of the dickens". While he never put a frog in anyone's bed he certainly may have considered it.
Throughout his life he loved boating, snowmobiling, building models, classic American cars, traveling to the UP, 50/60's film noir, the music of David Bowie, Harry Chapin, Andy Williams, and - of course - NFL football!
With a steel trap for remembering dates and historical events, he was an avid reader who loved history - especially that of shipwrecks, war history, and the lives of past presidents such as Teddy Roosevelt. In late years he could easily tell you where every "American" car was actually built and what part came from which foreign country.
As a US Army Veteran, and retired GM employee, he was extremely interested - and kept up to date - on current politics, and would not hesitate to share his views when it came to the current condition or future of our country.
While life was not always easy for him, and was downright hard for him at times, he was always the first one to lend a helping hand, and help others in time of need, or return a favor.
When he left us on Friday, August 2nd, we were heartbroken and left to grieve the loss of one truly special and unforgettable man, and yet, we are comforted knowing he is now off to the heavenly constellation of stars that he once could only view through his beloved telescope from afar.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Kerry, and daughter Missy. He leaves behind his loving sisters, Lynne (Morrow) and Judy (Weaver), brother Michael, brother-in-law, Todd, daughter, Lisa, granddaughter, Jordan, and Several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial celebration to honor David's life will take place on August 10 at 11:00am with interment at Rosedale Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
