Darrell Janes, 58 yrs. old, lost his battle to a lingering illness on May 6, 2015. He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his son Bradley E. Janes, Grand Rapids MI. and his four daughters, Elizabeth A. Janes (Simoo Sipili) Dallas Tx. Emily R. Borg (John) Grand Rapids, Mi. Leslie Purvis (James) Grand Rapids, Mi. Nicole Janes, Grand Rapids, Mi., his brother Carl L. Janes (Renee) Lowell, Mi. and his grandchildren, Cami Janes, Amarianna Purvis, Romani Purvis, James Jr. Purvis, Gauge Janes, Johnny Borg, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Marjorie, infant daughter Kimberly and his beloved dog Mia. Darrell was born and raised in Ada, Mi. leaving behind many childhood friends. He was very well known in the area for his knowledge and 30+ yrs. in refrigeration/appliance repair. Darrell was a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan, enjoyed playing his guitar & chess, writing poetry and hunting for morel mushrooms. He cherished the time spent with his family. He always had a story to tell though his words may have been few….they spoke volumes. He truly was "a man of his word." He was a father, a brother, a friend; always willing to lend a hand to help a friend in need. Darrell will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. To respect and honor his wishes, there will be no memorial or funeral services. It is a time to "rejoice" and "celebrate" his new life.
