IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Darleen Spring
Kreis
April 13, 1960 – January 31, 2026
Darleen S. Kreis passed away unexpectedly at her home on January 31, 2026, and is now dancing in Heaven. She was born on April 13, 1960, in Kalamazoo to Dorothy and Clifford Kreis and was the youngest of their five children.
Darleen was a graduate of Portage Central High School and continued her studies at KVCC. Gifted both musically and artistically, she was often the one family and friends turned to for their creative needs. She found her greatest joy in time spent with her grandchildren, attending concerts, and cuddling her beloved fur baby, Erin. Throughout her professional life, Darleen served faithfully as an executive assistant to various firms.
Darleen will be lovingly remembered by her children, Courtney Struble of Portage, MI and William Harris, III (Natasha) of Fort Myers, FL. She is also survived by her siblings, Colleen Kiley of Schoolcraft, MI, Kathleen Meekhof (Randall) of Grand Rapids, MI, Marleen Roetman of Grand Rapids, MI, and her brother, Thomas (Cindy) of Monroe, NC. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Jordan Davis, Alayiah Kelley, Kaleigh Harris, and Ty Harris, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of Darleen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Kalamazoo First Assembly of God, 5550 Oakland Drive, Kalamazoo, MI, with Pastor David Barringer officiating. A casual potluck will follow the service. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in fellowship and remembrance as they honor her life.
