Daniel G. Sheldon, age 84, of Ionia, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026.

He was born on August 22, 1941, in Wyoming, to Gilbert & Mable (Fopma) Sheldon.

Dan proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as an Airman Second Class.

Dan worked for many years as an aerospace technician and flooring installer. Dan had many hobbies throughout his life, including love for airplanes and air shows. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he was also passionate about hot rod cars, car shows, and working on cars in his spare time. Dan treasured time spent with his family and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence and love for those closest to him.

He is survived by his children, Daniel Sheldon II (Kathy), Tammy Klein (Ed), and Chrsitopher Sheldon (Laurie); grandchildren, Georgia Sheldon, Kaleb Klein, Andrew Sheldon, Nicholas Sheldon, Justin Klein, and Jordan Klein; great-grandchildren, Carson Klein and Paisley Klein; siblings, Jim Sheldon and Gerald Sheldon.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert & Mable Irene Sheldon; and his sister, Sally Ambrose.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood.
