Daniel Irving Poelman was born on December 5th, 1953, to Robert and Eva Poelman. He was the 5th of 8 siblings: Sue, Bob, Ron, Morrie, Dan, Tim, Charlie and Joyce. He spent most of his childhood with his siblings living in Bauer.

He was a graduate of Hudsonville High School.

He married Sandra Peterson on April 2, 1983. He worked several different types of jobs, including an over-the-road truck driver and a delivery driver who set up office furniture. He loved spending time on the golf course and going to NASCAR races. He participated in several bowling and pool leagues.

He is survived by his siblings; Bob Poelman (Jill), Ron Poelman (Mary), Morrie Poelman (Linda), Tim Poelman, Charlie Poelman (Nancy), and Joyce Poelman and many nieces and nephews, His children; Michelle Crawford (Randy), Darryl Klok (Jennifer) and Nathan Klok, 7 grand children and 14 great grand children.
