Daniel W. Peterson of Grand Rapids, Michigan, formerly of Middleville, Michigan, age 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 7, 2023. He was born to Elsie and John (Jack) Peterson on October 24, 1943.

Daniel was born the youngest of four children. He was a graduate of Byron Center High School. Daniel loved reading, history, classic-country music and good food. He displayed laughter, humor and love as he nurtured his relationships with friends and family throughout the years.

Daniel is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Louise (Schantz) Peterson, sister, Nancy Corder, children; Kimari Green and husband Craig, Jon Peterson and wife Holly, Loren Peterson and wife Kate, and grandchildren; Joe Green, Alexis Peterson, Leah Green, Emilee Peterson, Bretton Peterson, Jayse Peterson, Corbin Peterson and Reese Peterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Pete and sister Donna Warner.

The family would like to thank Spectrum Health Hospice and the staff of Porter Hills for his care and compassion during his illness.

There will be a time of visitation from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2023, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood Michigan 49508. The memorial service for Dan will be celebrated from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Shick presiding.
