Daniel "Dan" Grant Heckman, 88, of Newaygo, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 26, 2024. Dan was born on October 29, 1936 in Bangor, Michigan, to George and Geraldine Heckman and grew up with his five sisters. Dan served in the army and was very proud of his military service. He was a long-time resident of Kentwood, Grand Rapids, and in later years was able to fulfill a life-long dream of buying property and building a home in the country.

Dan was preceded in death by his son, Mark Heckman, his parents and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Christine Heckman, by his children Scott and Lori Heckman, Karen and David Lehigh, and Brian and Kaitlin Heckman, by his grandchildren Kaitlyn and Markwane Billingsley, Corbin Heckman and a great granddaughter, Ivry Billingsley.
