Daniel E. Grabruck died peacefully at home on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at the age of 84, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 8th, 1940, to the late Arthur and Lucille Grabruck in Detroit, Michigan. He was raised on Detroit's east side as the fourth of six children.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 45 years Marcie (nee Bridge), daughters Kathleen Grabruck (Steven Bowler), Kristin Grabruck, Laura Bailey (Kyle), daughter-in-law Donna Grabruck, sister Cheryl Randall, brother William Grabruck and many beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sassy but much-loved German Shepherd "Arty". In addition to his parents, Dan was predeceased by his son Daniel P. Grabruck, as well as his brother Thomas Grabruck, sisters Ann Thompson and Barbara Bishop, and brother-in-law Ray Randall.

Dan will be remembered for his sense of duty, a value he instilled in his family; and acts of service, to include a decorated career as a Detroit Firefighter and Arson Investigator.

After retirement from the Detroit Fire Department, Dan and Marcie moved to Alden Michigan, where he worked in auto sales. He cherished the beauty and solitude of northern Michigan and enjoyed boating, gardening, and walks in the woods with family and loyal canine companions.

Of the many roles and adventures Dan enjoyed in life, none rose to the level of joy as "Boppie" to 12 grand and great grandchildren, who put a twinkle in his eye and a warm smile on his face. A smile we all will remember him by.

Dan was a gentle man of few words, leaving a legacy of laughter and love. He hung a plaque in his home with the words, "How Beautiful is Love and the lives of those who share it" Author Unknown
