Dana Cameron Smith, born in Michigan, July 13th, 1950, passed away peacefully, at his Rockford, Mi., home, on July 8th, 2023, with his two sons, Cameron and Taylor, and his brother, David, at his side.
A Celebration of Life will be held on September 16th, 2023, between 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Lamoreaux Memorial Park, 256 Park St., Sparta, MI 49345.
Dana was a veteran, in the Vietnam era, who helped collaborate the Vietnam wall at Lamoureaux Memorial Park, in Sparta Michigan.
He had a love of playing the guitar, not only alone, but also with his buddies and one of his biggest accomplishments, was playing his song, "The Cost of Freedom" (which also resulted in radio airtime), on July 3, 2010, at the 5/3rd ballpark, for the Vietnam veterans, "Welcome Home" celebration!
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Bonnie, his father, Kenneth, and his younger brother Dale. Surviving are his two sons, Cameron and Taylor, his daughter, Holly, six grandchildren, three brothers, David, Doug and Kevin, and his three sisters, Linda, Ellie and Deborah.
