Craig J. Clasen was born February 6, 1963 in Lafayette Indiana. He was the son of Linda Pickering Clasen and Wilbert Nathanial Clasen (Bill). He spent his elementary school years in Covington, Indiana. He attended high school in Morton, Illinois and graduated from high school in Burlington, Iowa. Craig was very athletic. In middle school, he won the kick, punt and pass contest for the state. Besides playing football, he was an avid water and snow skier, golfer, enjoyed motorcycling, snowmobiling and flying airplanes. Craig also loved rock music and attending concerts. After attending college at Western Illinois, Craig moved to Indianapolis and went into the glass business. He married Terry Anderson, purchased his two homes, had his beloved golden retriever and was enjoying life to the fullest. Unfortunately at the age of 29, Craig developed brain cancer. He survived but his life was altered forever. He continued to live in Indianapolis but was no longer able to work. Until her death, his mother oversaw Craig's care from Chicago. Then Deb Fisher cared for Craig from 2007-2015, allowing him to stay in his home and travel. His aunt Carole and Uncle Wayne Richardson were also instrumental in providing care and home maintenance with their frequent visits from Michigan. Family pitched in to help Craig remain in his home. However, in 2015, Craig was no longer able to stay in his home and moved to a nursing home in Grand Rapids, Michigan to be close to family. Craig went home to be with Jesus on November 25, 2018. He passed with Carole holding his hand. We rejoice that he is free from his disabled body but miss his sweet soul. God gave Craig the gift of joy; and despite his difficulties, Craig was able to maintain his positive and loving disposition. Craig is survived by his father; a brother, Mark; his aunts, Carole Richardson and Margot Gates, his uncles, Wayne Richardson and Fred Gates; and close cousins, Brian Gates and John Richardson.
