Cory Allen Anthony, a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in Kentwood, MI. Born on January 10, 1970, in Zeeland, MI, Cory's zest for life and infectious spirit were evident through all his friends.
Cory was preceded in death by his father, Stan Anthony; grandpa, Wayne Wagner; grandparents, Keith and Marilyn Anthony; aunt, Darlene Bowen, uncle, Eugene Anthony. Cory loved his boys more than life itself, including his cat, Odin, who will deeply miss him. He is survived by his sons, Seth Anthony and Caleb (Ashley) Anthony; grandchildren, Riley McBride, Julius Anthony, Agnes Anthony, and Olive Anthony; his mother, Betty Jean Anthony; grandmother, Gloria Wagner; mother of his children, Heidi Joy Aldrich; sisters, Melissa Anthony and Paula Anthony; uncles, Jerry Wagner, Larry Wagner, Randy Wagner, Kevin (Janice) Anthony, Edwin (Delores) Anthony; many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and his work family, who will forever cherish the memories created with him.
Cory's professional life as a technician in the automotive industry was a testament to his dedication and hard work. He was known for his ability to connect with everyone he met, making lifelong friends along the way. Outside of work, Cory's passions colored every aspect of his life. An avid disc golfer, he shared his love for the sport with friends and family, often found on the course perfecting his own game. He inherited a pool table, a cherished family heirloom, which became the centerpiece of many joyful gatherings after his father's passing. Cory's love for rock & roll including, the Grateful Dead and Iron Maiden provided a soundtrack to his life. His artistic side shone brightly when he made tie-dyes with friends. An amazing cook, Cory delighted in preparing meals for those he loved, and his phenomenal style was evident to all who knew him. His sharp dressing sense was just one aspect of his meticulously clean and organized approach to life. Holidays were a special time for Cory, often spent with his best friend, Ricky, where laughter and camaraderie were in abundance. The love and friendship they shared were a testament to Cory's ability to form deep and lasting bonds.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 12:00 pm at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Ave, Kentwood, MI. Friends and relatives may meet with the family for a visitation on Thursday, October 3 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Visitation will also take place from 11:00 - 12:00 pm on Friday, one hour prior to the service.
