Obituary

Cora passed away peacefully after several years of declining health.  Anyone who knew Cora knows that she fought the good fight for as long as she was able.

Cora loved her family and was interested in their comings and goings and all that they were involved in. She loved being in the know and offering advice. There's not a day that goes by without her family wanting to keep her in the loop about something. With it being harder for her to get out, she loved keeping track of her family on her phone app. She truly missed being physically involved in all they did. She loved going to their school, sporting and theater events and wanted to know every detail of their daily living. She adored being Grandma Cora and Gigi.

Cora grew up in Colorado and moved to Michigan at age 17.

Cora, along with her husband Steve, spent many years nurturing their businesses. Cat Lanes in Ionia was where you could find them for many years. Cora wore several hats at Cat Lanes, one of them being the Friend Hat. She had a listening ear and enjoyed sharing the lives of all the employees and bowlers.  One of her proudest accomplishments while there was starting the Ionia High School bowling program. They also owned Aarmor Case in Lake Odessa until Steve passed in 2015.

Cora and Steve loved music, dancing, skiing and being with family.

We deeply miss her love and laughter. She had a ready smile and infectious laugh and always wanted everyone to be happy.

Cora was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Steven Catlin, her parents Bill and Dorothy Zordel, sister Elma Gwen Zordel and Father-in-Law Ted Catlin.

Cora is survived by family who daily miss her.  Children Michele (Neil) Estep, John (Darcha) Shattuck and Mandy Shattuck. She was Grandma Cora to grandchildren Cora (Austin) Stansell, Lucy and Jacqueline (Aaron Gorman) Estep; Bryce and Caiden Shattuck; Alexis Martin.  She was Great Grandma (Gigi) to Aaralyn and Rosie Stansell; Aiden, Lilly, and baby-to-be April Gorman.

She is also survived by brother Terry Zordel, sister Ladonna (Bob) Shultz; Mothers-in-Law Joanne Catlin and Jeanine Catlin; Brothers and Sisters-in-Law Mike (Judy) Catlin, Brad (Patty) Catlin, Paul Catlin, Sue (Mark) Alverson, Peg and Mike Nichols. Along with several nieces, nephews and special friends Denise Harrington, Mark and Gayle Reed, all of whom she loved dearly.
