May 30, 2014 SWEETMAN (nee TIMMERMAN), CLARA R. Clara R. Sweetman, nee Timmerman, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 30 in her residence at the Devos Manor in Holland Home. Born in Vogel Center, MI on December 23, 1925, she is survived by Leonard Sweetman, Jr., her sweetheart and husband of more than 66 years, and her sister, Bertha Karsten of Jenison, as well as Neale and Winnie Sweetman of Rochester, NY and Marge (Sweetman) Vis of Wyoming. Grieving her loss are her three children, Angelique Dottery (Clarence) of Lansing, Robert Sweetman (Rosanne Lopers) of Toronto, and Nora Cooper (Steve) of Hamilton; grandchildren, Savannah, Nick, Adrienne, Simon, Hillary, Kyle (Janine); great grandchildren, Saraiyah, Damany, Lynnae, and Clara; and many nieces and nephews. She travelled far, taught well, and practiced a gentle hospitality toward many whom she encountered in the course of living. A strong faith and a servant-like leadership marked her life. May she rest in the presence of the God she loved to serve. A memorial service will be held at Church of the Servant, 3835 Burton St. SE, on Tuesday, June 3, at 11am.
