Christopher William Covert of Comstock Park, MI passed away at home, surrounded by family on Sunday, April 10, 2022.

Chris was born to Mary (Dewey) Spoelstra and William Covert on April 27, 1961. He was the oldest of four siblings and a 1980 graduate of Forest Hills Central High School. After high school Chris met his wife, Michelle (Marks), and they were married December 12th, 1987.

Chris loved to spend time with his family and friends, and enjoyed his Jeep and taking trips in his motorhome. If he was not spending time with family, you could find him in his barn working on one project or another. For 42 years, he owned and operated Covert Services, a landscaping, plowing and excavating business.

Chris is survived by his wife Michelle of 34 years; very special grandchild, Della Ann Klekotka; loving children Andrea Covert (Matt Castle), Audra (Jon) Klekotka; brothers Dave (Kathy) Covert and Greg (Amy) Brown and sister Gina Covert Ostergren; mother Mary (John) Spoelstra, father William (Stephanie) Covert, aunt Peggy Covert, many beloved nieces and nephews and dear friends Tom and Peggy Corpe and Ted and Tracey Mosies as well as many others. Chris was preceded in death by grandparents Russell and Regina Dewey, and Lyle and Margaret Covert, brothers-in-law Todd Bovee and Craig Ostergren, uncle Bobby Covert, uncle George Dewey, aunt Patricia Voegeli and neice Sierra Brown.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Michigan for their care and compassion during Chris' illness.

There will be a time of visitation from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Grace Fellowship Church, 735 Buth Dr NE, Comstock Park, MI 49321. The funeral service will start at noon at the church and a celebration of his life will follow from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Casino Club of Grand Rapids, 3260 Salerno Dr NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.
