Chester J. Merda passed away August 3rd, 2022 at the age of 61. Chester Merda was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy M. Weever (Glen T. Weever) and Chester E. Merda. Chester is survived by his son, Jared Merda (Kayla Hendrix) and his daughter, Allison Merda. His siblings Michael J. Merda and Sherrie (Norman) Jenney, his niece Nicole Merda, and nephew Jacob Merda.
Chester Merda was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 5th, 1961. He attended grammar school in Chicago up until 8th grade. As a freshman, Chester moved to Delton, Michigan where he completed his high school education in 1979 at Delton Kellogg Schools.
Chester attended Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek where he got his associates degree while working full-time as a manager at McDonald's in Urbandale. He continued school at Ferris State University and finished at Western Michigan University where he received his bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1989. Some of Chester's adulthood was spent working at Eaton Corporation and he finished his career at Harley Davidson in Milwaukee, WI.
Chester's greatest legacy was spending time with his children as they grew up; he loved playing board games and taking them on vacations. Chester enjoyed going back to his hometown, Chicago, where he had a lot of love for his extended family and of course the various famous foods. As many know, he also cherished the time he was able to spend on the phone talking to the ones he loved. He also enjoyed woodworking, watching the Chicago sports teams, and spending time with his family at his childhood home on Upper Crooked Lake.
