Obituary

Charles R. Zeitter, age 86, of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully Thursday, October 6, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born in Grand Rapids on November 20, 1929 to Albert and Mathilde Zeitter. Chuck worked at Packaging Corporation of America for 40 years as a package designer. He was an avid sports fan of the Michigan State Spartans and the Detroit Tigers. He especially enjoyed golfing, gardening and working in his yard on his little slice of heaven on the Grand River. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa who treasured his family. He was preceded in death by his brother, Herbert Zeitter. Chuck will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Barbara, of 64 years. Also surviving are his children, Robert (Luella) Zeitter, James (Kim) Zeitter, Christine (David) Wolf; grandchildren, Mark, Elizabeth, Justin and Danielle; and seven great-grandchildren. His family wishes to thank the Faith Hospice staff at Trillium Woods for the compassionate and professional care they gave Chuck. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 11, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2727 5 Mile Road, Grand Rapids, with a luncheon following the service. Pastor Tom Bartzch officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10-11 am before the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church.
