Rev. Charles William Martin formerly of Shelby, Michigan passed away in Clare, Michigan on June 3, 2017. Rev. Bill was born on June 30, 1924, to Charlie and Angie Martin in Manistee, Michigan. He served with his wife, Maxine (who preceded him in death in 2009) in the West Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church for thirty-nine years. Serving churches in Newaygo, Sanford Hartford, Edmore, Middleville, Clare, Wyoming Park, and South Haven. After Retiring to Shelby in 1989, he enjoyed fishing, especially in Canada, having long-time friendships, working in the elementary school, Crop Walks, reviving his love of art, painting with watercolors, and doing visitation for the Shelby United Methodist Church. Rev. Bill is survived by his Children; Dr. David and Colleen Bremer, Kim and Claudia Volheim, Chuck and Beth Martin. Grandchildren; Zachary and Lynn Clement-Bremer, Daniel and Kara Sutherlin, Nathan Volheim, Ben Volheim, Rob and Hannah Schaffert, and Evan Martin. Great grandchild Meara Bremer. His sisters Marcia Snoek, Charlene Martin, and nieces and nephews.
