FISK- Charles Augustus Jr., aged 94, devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine. He is survived by his sons, Steve and Rick (Mott); grandson Sean; brother David Fisk (Marge) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Chuck served in the Navy in the South Pacific during World War 2 and retired from 35 years of employment at Keeler Brass. He had a wide variety of interests and talents and was a master of the physical world. A builder-engineer with a deep curiosity for materials and machinery of all kinds. He was especially fond of vehicles... like his 1962 Volkswagen Beetle. He had a straightforward approach to life and provided those close to him with a wonderful mix of advice, council, stories, humour and love. Growing up on the farm he greatly enjoyed the outdoors and had a strong reverence and respect of nature and its rhythms. Singing and playing the harmonica were hidden talents he would surprise us with on occasion. Chuck and Jerry travelled extensively throughout their lives, early on with sons in the camper he built visiting nearly every state and later on hiking and canoeing with Jerry in the remote woods and wilderness they so enjoyed. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will meet relatives and friends Tuesday, February 13th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo SE, Kentwood. Funeral services will be held at Plymouth Congregational Church, 4010 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Grand Rapids, on Wednesday, February 14, with a 10 a.m. visitation, 11 a.m. Memorial service, followed by a luncheon. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, 2530 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Grand Rapids.
