Obituary

Charles Allen, age 70 of Wyoming, MI passed away peacefully on May 2, at his home, following a courage lifetime battle. He was born on September 20, 1955 to George and Catherine Allen in Hutchinson, KS.

Charles was a man of deep reflection and creativity who found great joy in writing poetry and stories. He had profound love for nature and the outdoors, often finding peace and inspiration in the world around him. He was an Evans Scholar and graduate of Michigan State University and an avid supporter of the Spartans.

He is survived by his siblings: his older brother George (Sue) Allen of Dewitt, brother David (Sue) Allen of Pierson, sister Georgia (Kathleen) Allen of Reno, NV and nephew Rock Allen of Joliet, IL and his beloved dog and constant companion Chrissy.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Charles' longtime caretaker, Ron Benedict and his wife Jenna, for their years of dedicated care and friendship, as well as his close friend Jeffrey Stainaker for his friendship, loyalty and unwavering support.

Charles now joins his mother, Catherine, father George, and several dear friends who have passed before him to be with our Heavenly Father. A private cremation will take place per his wishes.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm at the Lodge at Pinery Park. Those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Alano Club South or Michele's Rescue (for animals).
