Obituary

Catherine Ann (Smith-Yoder) Noordyke was born December 10th, 1954 to Paul Smith and Lois (Morgenstern) Boniface. Catherine attended and graduated from Delton High School. Upon graduating, she enlisted in the Navy.

Cathi enjoyed fishing, jig saw puzzles, traveling, chocolate, old westerns and gambling. She was a member of the Wayland VFW Post 7581 for numerous years and served as president of the Women's Auxiliary.

In 2006 she met and married her husband Joe. Catherine is survived by her husband Joseph, two daughters, Lori (Kenneth) West and Leila Clardy, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She is also survived by siblings Deborah (Steven) Boerner, Paula Knowlton, Rebecca Gray, Anton Smith, Brian (Karen) Smith, Paul Smith, Brenda (Joseph) Warner and numerous nieces and nephews.

Catherine is preceded in death by her parents Paul Smith and Lois (Morgentern) Boniface and niece Jennifer Miller.

Catherine passed away quietly at her home on August 1, 2022.

A memorial service will be held on September 24, 2022 at noon at the American Legion Boat and Canoe (401 N. Park St. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525) with a luncheon to follow.

Catherine's ashes will be scattered by the family at a later date in Mount Scott, Oklahoma.
