Catharine Helen (Loar) Lapczynski, age 91, of Caledonia, MI, peacefully passed away on January 30, 2025. Born on April 21, 1933, Catharine was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Catharine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Karl Stamman of Caledonia, MI; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Amanda and Luke Lubbers of Wyoming, MI; and her grandson, Kevin Stamman of Noblesville, IN. She will also be dearly missed by her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Richard Parks of Horton, MI, along with her nieces and nephews: Mike (Karen) Parks, Beth Ellen (Tom) Roy, Lisa Parks Waagen, and Jeff (Lauren) Parks. Catharine is also survived by numerous cousins, whom she cherished dearly along with all the special moments they shared.
She was preceded in death by her parents, H Dale and Helen (Jones) Loar, and several beloved cousins.
Born and raised in Morenci, MI, Catharine developed a love for music early in life and enjoyed playing the organ at her local Methodist church. In 1963, she married Peter F. Lapczynski from Colver, PA, a union that lasted until January 1976. Catharine spent a significant portion of her adult life in Lake Wales, FL, where she lived for 10 years.
Catharine dedicated over 25 years of her professional life to DeVlieg Machine Company in Royal Oak, MI, where she excelled as an Industrial Purchasing Manager. She also spent 8 years with IMPCO in Lansing, MI. She took great pride in attending the annual DeVlieg 25-year banquets, which celebrated her and many of her colleagues' dedication and contributions to the company.
A celebration of Catharine's life will be held at a later date, allowing her close family to come together to honor her memory. She will be remembered for her resilience, strength, and the love she shared with all those around her.
